Familia Stoenescu - The Six Most Wanted List

By admin | August 1, 2006

The six most wanted Stoenescus!

Just as the FBI, CIA, MI5, MI6 and KGB have their own specific wanted lists, so to do we at the Weldon blog!  Here is our listed of the six most notorious members of the infamous Romanian “Cosa Nostra”, or should that read Casa noastra? Well, anyway, they have variously been defined as “The Stoenescu Mafia is a kind of organized entity being active not only in several legal fields, but also tending to exercise sovereignty functions – normally belonging to public authorities – over a specific territory (usually the curte)”.  Rewards have been issued for their immediate apprehension.  The head of the family is Şeful, a cross Doberman-German Shepherd.  His reputation goes far and wide and is completely earned.  When visitors from the other “families” arrive on home territory, he has been known to defend the Stoenescu family with great vigour, and now needs to be tied up for his own protection.  You can see that one ear is lower than the others - this is a war wound from inter-family warfare sustained when he first set up the family, in the early 2000s.  His real name is Arco, and originator of the ritual that all visitors must endure in order to be entrusted with close contact with the rest of the family, which is to get within 3 feet of him - legat, of course (are we stupid??).

The Second in Command is actually a separate ruling Board, made up of i) Mamaia, the family Consigliere, wisest of all, ii) Lio, the Caporegime, or Capo, and iii) Felicia, who is actually the Don of the family.

The worker-bees are the foot-soldiers of the family.  Such are the demands placed on them by the family that they have extended the tentacles of the Stoenescus all around the world, including Western Europe and North America, cleverly enrolling in universities to gain qualifications as a “front” for extending their reach beyond Romania.  In their picture you can clearly see the traditional greeting of the Stoenescus, as demonstrated by Dorin.
