Paint palettes

Now the wall render is up at Galeş and we need to limewash colour the walls.  Here is Laurian, our builder, trying out different colours of blue and hairdrying them to get to the non-wet final colour effect.  We chose blue because previously the walls had been a kind of sky blue and we wanted to stay authentic.  Blue also gives it a rustic peasant Romanian look…I’m pretty confident blue was a very common colour in all the Romanian communities some hundreds of years ago, whether Saxon, Romanian, Hungarian, etc…
