The hanging radiator

By admin | August 15, 2010

Finally, we did something about the hanging radiator, halfway up the stairs.  When we made the plans for the house we had done so without thinking about where the staircase was going to be, indeed at that point we weren’t entirely sure.  So, the radiator at that point sensibly went underneath the window of the landing.  However, when we did decide where the stairs were going to be, that left us with a radiator hanging on the wall, almost in mid-air, and looking rather odd!  So we asked our great carpenter buddy, Dl Capatina, to make us a radiator cover that would be in keeping with the beautiful carved oak staircase he’d made for us. So, it had to be oak, and it had to be carved.  The final product was really quite stunning and exceeded our expectations.  Plus, Dl Capatina had some dififculties making it fit into its surroundings and generously gave us a whole day of his time, at his own expense, to make it fit in properly.  He really is a super person, and easily one of the best people we’ve done business with over the years. My hat off to you Dl Capatina!
